First it's the eyes, then it's the ...... I'll see if I can help next time I see you. RE: Coolant level in reservoir - Steve46 - 05-07-2009 Hi Guys, Last week I checked my level, was a bit low nothing to worry about but wanted to top the bottle up anyway. Read the book no way was I taking the fairing off an 09 to top it up. Then that little person in my head had an idea. I carfully took the small over flow hose off, the one just under the radiator cap, remember the radiator is alloy & you dont want to damage the small tube, this was easy to get to through the top R/H fairing vent, got a suitable syringe from the shed (no needle, I have always used syringes for topping brake fluid etc less mess more control than pouring from bottle) filled it with coolant pushed it firmly into the removed rubber hose & pumped coolant into bottle. Be carefull as it takes a little pressure to pump it in & you dont want the syringe popping out & getting an eye full of coolant. Wear your PPE. (personal protective equipment) Took all of 2 minutes, replaced hose & clamp back onto radiator tube washed down area just incase any coolant had dribbled on paint work, job done. May help some people if they need to top up in between services. But hey its your call if you want to do this just sharing my ideas. Steve. RE: Coolant level in reservoir - gazzabusa - 05-07-2009 I don't have any trouble either. Maybe it's to do with the light (on the subject). Thanks for the tip Steve. Gary |
