legal undertails?? - rockhard - 24-04-2009 i want to change the rear of my busa to this but have heard rumors its illegal in qld . RE: legal undertails?? - 1300hayabusa - 24-04-2009 rockhard Wrote:i want to change the rear of my busa to this but have heard rumors its illegal in qld . It is illegal, firstly the blinkers have to be between 25 to 30 cm apart, the lens has to be of a certain diameter and you have to have a 45 degree angle of cover on your rear mudguard/plate holder/light blablabla. It also depends on which tax collector you meet on the day,and what mood he is in !!Any after market mod/accessorie you have on your bike is not legal/approved according to my mechanic.Alot of bull crap imo!!! RE: legal undertails?? - bigfoot - 24-04-2009 looks cool tho! RE: legal undertails?? - VNSVLE - 24-04-2009 I hate to be an argumentative bastard but the rear indicators on the gen 2 are only approx 20cm apart. RE: legal undertails?? - Hutch99 - 24-04-2009 indicators here have got to be more than legal length!!! http://store.58cycle.com/v/vspfiles/photos/GP%20UT%20BUSA-2.jpg RE: legal undertails?? - 1300hayabusa - 25-04-2009 [quote=VNSVLE] I hate to be an argumentative bastard but the rear indicators on the gen 2 are only approx 20cm apart. [/quote You might be right on the gen 2....... but its a factory fittingt/OEM so they cant say a word,on the other hand if its an aftermarket they can be difficult!!!!!! Busaboc RE: legal undertails?? - Bon - 25-04-2009 Hi Oz, I got mine off a bloke called Terry Jackson who resides in Sydney, he has worked in the fiberglass industry for years and he loves his bikes. The undertail he made for me is bloody superb unlike all the bloody awful american imports on ebay, It's been on my 06 for 2 years now and no dramas at all. I do not have contact details for Terry but I think Blackzook (a member of this forum) is a friend of Terry. Might be worth you talking to him and he will make you one to suit your taste. Regards, Bon. As I said my mechanic gave me this info so Im assuming that if you call these fine people at QLD transport and ask they might muster a bit of IQ between them and give you the info you need.Holding your breath is not advisable though!!! RE: legal undertails?? - Bon - 26-04-2009 Oz the tail was approx $300AU which sounds alot but having some of the ill fitting shit for sale these days I was happy. Hope this helps. Regards, Bon. |
