Heavy Vibration in my busa - auzzyss - 08-04-2009

Hi guys... just new here and have just brought an 06 busa which i am growing to like very quickly but have a problem..... i think

Riding home on the freeway just after i have picked it up.. just starting to nudge about 4700rpm and 140kph in 6th, i started to feel a rather heavy vibration through the bike, which got worse as i went faster. I never kept the throttle open to see if it went away, was too scared the thing was gonna fly to pieces.

Would anyone know wot it is??

cheers

The cam hits at about 4500rpm.
If you ride through the small period of vibes to about 5500 or 6000 rpm it smooths out again.
It can also be helped by using BP Ultimate fuel, I have found it to be the smoothest fuel for a stock busa.

If it is really bad, you may have other issues but I think that this is what your are feeling.
It normally is not too bad but because the busa is such a smooth bike, it just feels bad at that rev area.

Gday Mate,

Can you describe the vibration in more detail, was through the bars, through the seat, on the pegs, did it cause the front or rear to oscillate etc

Thanks for the replys guys..

The vibration is felt thru the pegs and the bars at about 4500rpm. Does not matter wot gear your in or how fast the bike it going, which indicates to me that its not a speed issue but a rpm issue. This is the 1st inline 4 bike i have owned, coming from V-twins and triples and have never felt this B4. Decided to do some research thru other forums and it seems im not alone... it just the way the busa is.. character of the bike... I'll see if the vibrations fade out as the rpm's get higher when the double demerit weekend is over...

Have a good and safe easter guys..

cheers

HI guys... vibration seems to go away about 1000rpm after it starts... so is this just busa characteristics??

RE: Heavy Vibration in my busa - Raging - 13-04-2009

Yeah seems to be a common characteristic. You will notice when you see female riders on busa's, they all seem to hover around that rev range... Very Happy
