Cruise control/throttle lock - Raging - 12-03-2009 Just wondering who has any type of cruise control on their bikes, and what is recommended by people.. was considering getting the throttlemeister, ( http://www.throttlemeister.com/ ) thought I would ask around first. Cheers RE: Cruise control/throttle lock - Greeny_SA - 12-03-2009 Raging Wrote:Just wondering who has any type of cruise control on their bikes, and what is recommended by people.. Throttlemeister's are fantastic,Had one for a couple of yrs.they arn't cheap about $150.00 Aust inc freight, but they shit on those cheap & nasty plastic one's.If you don't want to spend the dosh, there are previous post's on how to turn your choke (not really a choke, but a fast idle lever) into a throttle lock. still in my opinion only a cheap & not user friendly alternative. Your Choice. RE: Cruise control/throttle lock - Raging - 13-03-2009 Thanks greeny, haven't got a choke on the k9 but thanks for the feedback on the throttlemeister, is appreciated ![]() RE: Cruise control/throttle lock - BUSGO - 13-03-2009 See this discussion in the 'HOW TO DO IT" section Raging. http://www.australian-hayabusa-club.com/MyBB/showthread.php?tid=10331 RE: Cruise control/throttle lock - Raging - 13-03-2009 Yeah I read that...not really interested in the vista cruise lock, just doesn't look right..to me anyway, and as the wife tells me all the time, my opinion don't count for much.. Was more wondering if anyone had an electric cruise control, there are a few options around, not many, but a few RE: Cruise control/throttle lock - bear - 13-03-2009 I think I'd like to have electronic, the very time you want to drop off cruise control might be an emergency and you'd really just want to go for the brakes, not twist the bar end. Just my thoughts! RE: Cruise control/throttle lock - Raging - 13-03-2009 The bar end doesn't grab the throttle hard enough, apparently at any time you can twist the throttle either way and it will let go. RE: Cruise control/throttle lock - Cam - 13-03-2009 I've got a Supervista on my Copper. Sometimes it doesn't grip entirely so the bike slows a bit still, eg: from 110 to 100 in ~10secs. Other than that it's great & I'd never do a long haul journey again without one. Just my thoughts! You can adjust the lock tension on the throttlemeister by adding or removing spacer's .They also have a left hand thread so when you throttle off, you are disengaging the lock,(good for emergency stop's.) Full electronic cruise would be much better as you wouldn't speed up going down hill &slow down going up. |
