Ride to Gippsland on Monday 09/03/09 - busababe - 06-03-2009

Dear Diary,

I feel the need to ride. Monday would be good.

I will be departing the BP on the corner of Thompson's Road and Dandy Hastings and heading towards a few little back roads of the Gippsland area.

Probably have arvo drinks at the Kilcunda pub.

If anyone would like to join in, feel free. I will be departing precisely at 10am
( I am a punctual sort of person, therefore if you are there at 10.01 am, I will be gone )

Cheers from BB

Yes

What a great day !

Thank you to Dave & Brendan for coming along today. It was great to have your company.

After leaving the BP at Thompson's Road, it was a boring blat along the Bass Highway and then left at Lang Lang. Corners, corners and more corners on a relatively vacant road, we then found ourselves at Poowong, and then a brisk run to Korumburra.

A bit of traffic was on the road to Leongatha, then just out of town is a non-descript road off to the right which winds it's way along the ridgeline that brings you out at Mirboo North. Unfortunately the Bakery was closed, but there were other cafe's open and coffees and food were consumed.

Brendan had advised me earlier that he wouldn't be able to stay out all day, so he left Dave and I to wander back towards the Princes Highway at Trafalgar via Thorpdale. Again, despite being a public holiday, the roads were reasonably clear. Dave and I used this to our full advantage.Coolsmiley

Turning off the Highway near Warragul, we headed via Neerim out to Yarra Junction. Dave said farewell at Launching Place, and headed home. While I had decided to turn left and end up at one of my favourite cafes at Gembrook ( Charlotte's On Main ). One iced coffee later and I started my final leg for home. Via Cookatoo, Emerald and Belgrave.

So all in all a really good finish to a great long weekend.

Cheers all.

BB
