Newb - ByfordBlade - 12-01-2009

G'day guys

Sort of a newb - I've been riding for 22 years but only 3 days onto a busa.

In 2000 I was tossing up between the GSX and the ZX-12R and went with the Kawasaki. Loved that bike and held onto it until '06 when it was changed for a Fireblade. The Honda was nice for the track days, etc but there was always something missing. Last Friday an opportunity came up to swap the Honda for an immaculate '04 busa and I couldn't let it slip.

This weekend has been brilliant and the busa has done nothing but impress me both on the straights and in the tight stuff. A nice change from the Honda too is I get to the end of the ride and don't feel like I have two broken wrists and have been sitting on a wooden seat.

Look forward to chatting with you guys and learning a lot more about the new toy.

Mick

Beer

I felt the same with my wrists after swapping from a ZX10R to the Busa. Comfort and power.

Cheers for the welcomes guys. In answer to a couple of posts above - silver/blue and away over east this weekend so can't make the ride but will get on one when I have time.

Curiosity got the better of me this evening so I pulled out the allen keys and screwdriver. Compared to the 12 and even the Fireblade, the design on the busa in terms of access for maintenance is outstanding. I even found a nice new set of K&N filters in the airbox so there's one less mod I need to do as my blank canvass becomes a work of art.

I'm also bloody impressed with this forum - there is so much info on here that is genuine and relevant. The forums I was on for the 12 and the Honda were 99% posts about how the owner could beat Rossi because the bike is so great, this one is 99% facts. Maybe because you ride a 'busa you don't need to brag, just let people look? :)
