RE: Forster/Gloucester Ride - Braddo - 06-10-2008 Hi humbussa The ride is Sunday the 19th october RE: Forster/Gloucester Ride 19th October - pan - 06-10-2008 That's the day the Superbikes are at EC!!! RE: Forster/Gloucester Ride 19th October - dogdda - 09-10-2008 As I live in the Forster area, just a couple of tips for those unfamiliar. 1. Watch the Lakes Way from southern entrance for the first hill. The road surface is bloody awful, but on the up side most of the second hill has recently been resurfaced and is excellent. 2. There are some road works on the northern half of the Lakes Way between Tuncurry and the highway, just north of the Blackhead turn off. In general, the surface on the whole of the northern half is pretty ordinary. 3. For a small diversion, try turning off the Lakes Way at Rainbow Flat - the turn is about 500 metres BEFORE the highway on ramp. This diversion is only a few k's long - it's the old lakes way road, very quiet traffic wise, road surface is not too bad and it's better than being on the highway. This road comes out a couple of k's north of the on ramp and you have to cross the southbound lanes, but have a look anyway. Can't make the run myself, have fun.
