Fuel concerns - johnnydolittle - 17-09-2008 Hi all, great forum, hope I can input some of what I have got out of it over the past few weeks. Sometime ago I went to fill up a mates 99Busa at a shell servo and was told by a passer by that the shell fuel fouls the plugs of his Gsxr1000 and to avoid it's use. I recently picked up a my new K8 and was wandering if there is any truth in what this fellow had to say. Cheers, Johnny RE: Fuel concerns - BUSGO - 18-09-2008 This issue of Shell fuel has been discussed a lot on this board and on other forums. I used shell optimax exclusively for about 3 years when I owned a Triumph Sprint without any issues at all but when I changed over to a 99 busa, I moved away from it because of the rumours and now in my K8 busa I will only use Shell V if I don't have a choice of another like Vortex 98, Mobil 98 or BP Ultimate. I have had a few dirty tanks of fuel from BP in the past and that has been a bugger to fix on a 99 busa. RE: Fuel concerns - johnnydolittle - 18-09-2008 Cheers, I'll avoid shell unless I have to. |
