Bridgestone V Michelin V Shinko AUST trip - simmo - 10-09-2008
This is going to be a trial, one trip around the country over 16,000kms,
Who will get the furthest on a set of hoops
We are all starting out with both front & rear new rubber
I'll be running the new Bridgestone 015's
Heidi the Michelin pilot road 2
& Bruce the new street Shinko

This is going to be intresting!!!I allways use road legal compounds cause it's slippery here(if you ride like an maniac..).
Is it going to be near to legal speeds or thrashing speeds??

All legal speeds Bill we would never break the law over here, if there happened to be any Mr
of any insurance company's looking at theses sites we may get ourselves in trouble if we broke the law 
Narr we will be good its a long trip ahead of us :aussie

Spying sucks allright......Maybe you should try the new metzeler sport tourer tyre.Metzeler says that heat comming the carcass of the tyre when it flexes for the road surface is main factor of the rubber over heating and there fore wearing out.
Their new tyre has the same ruber but a tougher carcass on the middle to aviod that..That is by far intersting as i get 4000-5000 kms max of my rear..

This will be interesting - however the main cause of tyre wear after overuse of the accellerator is weight.
I'd be surprised if the heaviest bike didn't wear em out first if all else is fairly equal.

Ive noticed that Rob also comes away a couple of dollars better off at the petrol pump each fill than ayone else that I have seen on a busa. I reckon Rob will get the best tyre milage.

The Michelins won this bout without raising a sweat.
BOTH Rob and Bruce had to re tyre half way round and Heidi rode into Canberra with the starter tyres and hardly any wear to speak of after about 17,000 ks.
Both Rob and Bruce are running around Sydney looking for a pair to put on their bikes.

I thought shredders writeup on them when he went around tassie on them with his turbo bike would have been a good vote for them.They must be a big improvement on the original pilot road drift kings.

I thought my write up on them after my last trip through the centre would have been a vote for them too.
Before anyone asks, I did the same kms and speeds as the other two knuckleheads, there was no being 'girlie' with my tyre.

For big klm's you can't go past the Pilot Road's. I've said several times before, I've got over 21000klm out of each of the last 2 rears used for general everyday commuting & weekend riding.
Just put an M3 on the rear. Will be interesting to see what I get.

the road 2 is ahead of the bt020 in my opinion. i had an 020 on the rear of my 99 and it would break traction alot. so far on a bike with more power the pilot road 2 had only broken traction once but they were still very cold and i was being a douche bag.
