FROM NEUTRAL TO 1 GEAR - CROUZIE - 04-09-2008

Idiot2FROM N TO 1 AT A ROBOT IT FEELS IF THE CLUTCH IS NOT WORKING.WHEN I TAP DOWN IT FEELS IF THE BUSA IS JUMPING INTO GEAR WITHOUT A CLUTCH . IT MAKES CLAP SOUND.AFTER PULLING OFF NO PROBLEM ,NEXT ROBOT SAME PROBLEM.WHEN THE BIKE IS COLD ITS FINE BUT AFTER A WHILE WHEN HOT THE PROBLEM START
WHAT IS IT??? CAN IT BE FIXED???

RE: FROM NEUTRAL TO 1 GEAR - BUSGO - 05-09-2008

The clutch needs to get the oil into the plates. When the bike is cold, I recommend that you work the clutch once or twice before going into first gear.
Works a treat on my K8 and slips in smoothly all the time. Sometimes you can't even hear it go in.

When the bike is cold it slips in smoothly, but when hot it is notIcon_rolleyesthere must be oil in the plates after a few miles.

yep thats why they are called a wet clutch. Oil is supposed to get in there and keep the plates lubricated.

RE: FROM NEUTRAL TO 1 GEAR - BusaNation - 05-09-2008

is it like a hard clunking sound when you tap into 1st gear? if it is, this is normal, the genII is known for that ruff clunk into 1st

RE: FROM NEUTRAL TO 1 GEAR - BUSGO - 05-09-2008

Mine is not.

RE: FROM NEUTRAL TO 1 GEAR - Dan85 - 06-09-2008

my 99 and my 02 had a much harsher clunk into first. my gen2 barely makes a noise and the bike doesnt move at all she just slides in like 14 year old boy and a hooker with to much lube

RE: FROM NEUTRAL TO 1 GEAR - humbussa - 06-09-2008

my ols ZZR1100 use to clunk but not the Busa i have to check the indicator to make sure she's in sometimes it's that smooth...

Try adjusting your clutch lever so the contact/friction point is further away from the bar... (just my 2c)
