2009 VMax - Volvi - 24-08-2008

This bike should attract the interest of busa riders, however in all likelyhood they will be put off by the price. A friend Sam frrom COME racing has one on pre order for AUS$30.000.

Are you tempted?

RE: 2009 VMax - Ward P - 24-08-2008

It reads like a toy I'd like in the garageSmitten(been looking for a cruiser as a 2nd bike - and this definitely is not some Harley lookalike), Sensibly . . .$30 grand puts it out of my toybox though. Maybe given a year or two, something bigger and wilder will come out and this one will go 2nd hand for something reasonable. I've never bought new, always near new with low k's.
I will definitely be on the lookout.

Then again . . . if something bigger and wilder comes out, I'll probably want that more! AAAARGH!

sounds like a f*(&ing rocket alright.

The Japs just really get hype SO wrong...

What a joke,
Great bike looks wise.
Put a fairing or something on it.

RE: 2009 VMax - davegc - 24-08-2008

I had a look/sit on one at the press launch the other day. I always liked the old Vmax, and dont mind the new one. Cant wait to ride one. Its got everything but the kitchen sink on it.

Few points I dont like about it:

18'" wheels

Shaft Drive means gearing changes wont be easy.

and although its got a claimed 200 odd hp, it also has a claimed 310kgs of weight!

Price! 30k, could almost buy a Busa AND a B-King.

I agree with davegc.

B-King and Busa. Second-hand, you'd still have a few bob in the pocket to have fun with.

The new Triumph Thunderbird looks like it will be a true grunt machine too!

1600 twin watercooled with belt drive.

RE: 2009 VMax - TimF - 26-08-2008

I wouldn't own another shaft drive bike. I found that it felt as though it wanted to pickup then dump the rear wheel under full throttle in tight bends.

Something I read "But the V-Max also weighs 307 kilos – 47kg more than the B-King – which somewhat negates its almost 40bhp power advantage over the Suzuki."

I presume the B-King would make a better canyon carver.

I like the styling of the V-Max, but the B-King has an aggressive look that I think can be very easily made to be one of the best looking bikes around - in my eye at least.

Show pony aimed at the Rocket 111 and V-Rod market.

"might" be OK at the drag's but everyone said that about everything
from the original V-Max to the Rocket and it never happened.

Going to get its arse kicked up hill and down dale by Busa's and
B-King's, if not ..... i'll buy one.
