Who has done the Stay Upright Advanced course and put what they did on a this forum - piperjon - 03-08-2008
Hi Guy's.
A few months ago i was reading on this forum some guy's that had completed the Stay Upright Advanced course. One guy did write what he had learnt But I cannot find that thread to re read it. Now that i have a busa I would like to maybe go and do the course and finish reading what was said.
If it was you can you let me know where it is as again I have looked but maybe in the wrong places.

Not sure if this is the one but Tony and I did the course. Tones been riding for 35 years and he learnt heaps like how to look out, counter steering, braking etc. Its well worth the bucks. We are off to do the braking and turning soon as Tone will need it when he starts racing.

If you go to www.stayupright.com.au it will explain a bit more about the course. There is an Advanced course at Oran Park, Narellan on the 5th September and the cost is $385.

I did the Advanced course out of Goulburn last year. It was a fantastic course, a lot of line selection training plus practice with emergency braking. I would really recommend it for people who are new to a bike (particularly a big step up in power) as the guys gave me some really good advice on cornering safely and quickly with a big bike like a busa. You've gotta admit, she doesn't turn like a RS125. Well worth the money. Might not be as valuable for someone who has a great deal of experience on their bike but hey, we all have bad habits to correct as well. Also, who among us goes out and tries an emergency stop from 100 when it's not to avoid a wombat in the middle of the road?

Hi Guy's.
Well thanks for your info. I've been in bikes for many years, then gave then away for a good many more, after some one wanted my last bike more then me. Two years ago I bought a new Rocket III, just loved that bike!! When I seen the LTD Busa I just wanted one and have one. As you say most old riders do have bad habits!! Getting on Busa is shear magic.
I am going to do the course and after that i may do the second one as well.

excellent point ---- this statement have made me consider this coarse also ( although it had been in my mind for some time now ) I'm sure i have a few bad habits that need to be broken

Hey John,
I am booked to do the cornering & braking course 27 October at Oran Park, maybe we can get 2 x white bussas out there on the one day, also the stay upright guy confirmed white bikes corner best.

spotted on one the way through :) Misses comented that she really likes the new K8 i white - asked her if i upgraded my 2000 for the k8 would she come for a ride ---- got the usual reply ... NO

my wife wouldn't know what a bike looked like.
she went on the back with me about 20 yrs ago.
Didn't tie her hair up and had knots everywhere and that was the end of it.
I think its better that way anyway.
Biking is a solo sport really.
