92 Gsxr 750 - VNSVLE - 30-07-2008

Have a mate with a 92 gsxr 750 with a blown motor. Have been told the RF 900 engine will fit straight in. Just wondering if this is correct. Also what if any other engines will fit??
Question 2 - where would the best place in Queensland be to find a 92 750 engine??

RE: 92 Gsxr 750 - Maj - 30-07-2008

Some if the best info on that sort of swap would be found here http://www.streetfighters.com.au/forum/default.asp.
most common for that sort of swap would be the gsxr1100 , i think there is only one engine mount to change . the streetfighter guys could be more definite on models etc that would fit or parts to fix .
introduce yourself first though, they get a bit stroppy if you barge in and use them like a library

Maj would be correct in saying that the 1100 is the more common motor that you see swapped into the 750's. If I have got it right I've been told in the past by a couple of guys that have done it that the donk in the RF900 is the same engine as the 1100 just different strokes etc so if what I've been told is correct 1100 motor shopping is the go.

RE: 92 Gsxr 750 - REVIT13 - 03-08-2008

the other favourvite is the bandit 1200 as these are quite affordable compared to the 1127cc donk and these days more readily available.

seen a heap 7/12's getting around these days.

i'd be checking out your damaged motorcycle auctions. usually insurance write offs.
