HID's lights - illuminate me - Missy_Moo - 20-07-2008

Can anyone advise of HID's lighting, cost, ease of installation.

I just have the stock standard K8 at the moment, but I really lurv my driving lights on the car and hence would lurv to brighten the path ahead when riding.

Is the blue bulbs better?

Cheers MM

Much better, though the high beam takes a couple of seconds to fully illuminate when you first switch it on. Brilliant lights. get high and low beam. Your path will truly be illuminated!

I bought the Hi and Low and in my opinion the Hi doesnt offer any real benefit...both the Hi and Low take some time to come up to full brightness...so from a safety perspective I wouldn't recommend Hi .

These days they are real cheap coming in from Hong Kong / China--something like $180 to $200 USD delivered for both hi and low as a kit.

I have the 6000K slight blue tinge.....prob should of gone for about 5000K--more natural white

they are none the less brilliant

A kit is still needed before HID bulbs can be used right?

Any comments on this package:
eBay HID Kit from US

Can anyone recommend a good local option?

I have been using mine for 5 -6 years, almost every night, (I commute on the bike). My findings are that 5000K is the best light colour and I did not and will not convert the hig beam for safety reasons. There are some real cheapies available now, interesting to se how long they last, time will tell.
