Gee mate, glad to hear that you're still on the wagon. I don't know if I would have been very nice about the old "sorry didn't see you" line...

Hi Brian,
Yes it's good to know you walked away.

That is the same reason I bought my white Busa.

Good luck with the new Busa and Welcome

Hi Brian,

I'm new to the forum and was surprised to see Mombasa here - I just bought it today at auction!

I'm glad you're okay, when I first saw it I realised it was a rear-ender and had some mixed feelings about bidding for it, my father was almost killed when a drunk driver took him and his bike out at a red light.

Anyway, I've started pulling it down to check the extent of the damage. I've overhauled a few Gen I Busa's and am keen to see the full extent of changes on the Gen II.

But I have a request. Do you still have a key for this bike? Without it I'll be forced to get an aftermarket ECU. Those extortionists over at Suzuki want an arm and a leg for a new transponder and ECU.

Cheers,

Camel

RE: Unwarrented Slaying of Mombasa. - BUSGO - 27-08-2008

G'day Camel and welcome to the club.

I hope you get the bike back in order soon and it was a good buy.
If Brian can't help you with a key, just keep in mind that the factory holds a pair of spare keys for every GENII busa built. Suzuki Australia should be aware of that and you can organise a set of keys without the expense of replacing the ECU upon provision of the VIN number and proof of ownership. A new ECU and keyset is only required if that extra set from the factory has already been supplied to someone.
