Shut up you! Knuppel2
Don't listen to Simmo. My swingarm is STOCK length. If you don't believe me, count the chain links, divide by 3 and measure the rotational mass of the sprocket. It's stock!
& rotation of the earth & gravity pull is what again

I made some more functional changes, using all OEM parts of course... Frown

Updated the clutch cover. After 14 years the old one was pitted and worn.

Started with a cheap Chinese chrome one.

...then got carried away and chopped up the fairing (weight saving performance mod!)

Weighed the bike at the drag strip. Absolutely full tank of petrol too.

Turns out this cover is RUBBISH! Leaks oil out of the cap/hole because the thread isn't drilled straight in to the cover. It's drilled on a whacky angle which means the oil cap doesn't sit flush. Had to stick it in with Silastic!

RE: Busa No. 3 - CeeJay07 - 13-04-2013

All in the name of getting the bike as close to stock as possible huh??

RE: Busa No. 3 - pan - 13-04-2013

It's pretty much OEM

Here's a photo showing the gap

RE: Busa No. 3 - CeeJay07 - 14-04-2013

Couldn't you fill the gap with a fat section o-ring on the cap Pan?

RE: Busa No. 3 - pan - 14-04-2013

Tried that CJ, but because of the angled entry onto the clutch basket, the o-ring would effectively be squeezed out the end that wasn't making contact with the cap

Coming up to my baby's 14th birthday, thought I would spoil it a little...

New grips and new wheels...
