Podger..... - NumbNuts - 13-10-2000

yep. I have had 5 Suckzooki tensioners in my bike. Last one started making "slappy" noises at 14,500 miles. Dealer installed manual as a stop gap untill something is solved properly. now 15,500 miles in 7 months. '99 model.

I hate the "slappy" noise, and the valve train rattle. Scares the @#%$ outta me. You put bike in high gear, say 5th, crusie at about 2000rpm. then wack throttle wide open. Mine had a horrid rattle until about 5krpm when it would dissappear. Dealer rang Suzuki tech line and they said it is normal, they all do it!! he said mine was the forst he had heard. manual tensioner, no noise.

Last tensioner started making the slappy noise at 1500rpm. Not all the time. I took it in (again) and this was the first time that the bike has played ball and made the noise for the dealer. the look on his face was pure horror!!!

Plunger can be pushed in with hand. EASILY.
will keep you updated.......
