Just gota watch out for roos at night & drunk drivers 24 hours a day Gruntmax 90 mile straight is certainly long enough and your right the 1st time it's in WA and if my memory serves me correct (probably Not) it's between Balladonia and Ciguna or something where out that way RE: WA Busa Speed Trials - Maj - 22-12-2009 (22-12-2009, 05:23pm)daaef Wrote: Sorry to hijack, but...DLRA have tried to organise airstrip events but only for members (insurance) and it never had enough interest to take off Streetfighters used Casino airstrip for 2 yrs but costs overran returns and may not happen quite the same next year (900m to accelerate & 450 to brake got me to 191mph on my streetbike and stopped ....Just ....) I have looked briefly into Corowa airfield and found the council very enthusiastic, also started looking at insurance but ran into my prep time for racing in the US and didn't get any further then, may try to progress this more in Jan or Feb None of these are a mile acceleration but 1 km is possible, other options include Maralinga , Maralinga is 2.4km http://www.woomera.com.au/range/nondefence/vehicle.htm RE: WA Busa Speed Trials - Stuntrider666 - 23-12-2009 I am interested in getting the speed limiter removed from my Busa. Can someone let me know how and when this could happen. RE: WA Busa Speed Trials - arthur dunga - 23-12-2009 Blokes on this site may have these to sell or if not go on ebay & buy a TRE for a busa. If you can plug in a toaster you should manage to install this. I was checking out Maralinga a couple of days ago, admiring the roads when I noticed that there must be people living at the old defence accom site - I saw a pool! This looks like a great option for a National speed trial site. I'll follow up on this one. I'm still keen to do something locally, I'll be catching up with the boys tonight (If I can get this dog collar off) and discussing it there. Hey Maj, that sounds very promising..... we could go very fast on the ground..... ......and then do the same in the air !!!! .....I'd be up for some of that sweet action !!!! RE: WA Busa Speed Trials - Maj - 06-01-2010 For anyone thinking they will get 200mph easily here are the run logs from a mile event in Florida held last weekend this had several experianced mile racers and many guys just off the street http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=t3kr5HYbPm0q8c4VkqMXoZw&output=html RE: WA Busa Speed Trials - Ward P - 06-01-2010 (23-12-2009, 05:11pm)bazman Wrote:(22-12-2009, 09:33pm)Maj Wrote: I have looked briefly into Corowa airfield and found the council very enthusiastic.... OOOOooo, Now that would be interesting. Beats 315 (indicated on the wildly optomistic '99 speedo) up some huge long bumpy straight up Buckets way. (Just a dream I once had) I'd be really interested on how "in the real world" my dead stock '99 would stand up in top speed against all the later models and modifieds. Corowa has 2 strips. 1827m and 1524m. Seeing as how my 'busa will pull 290ish down the main straight at PI and it's 900m, I reckon probably entering at about 160(funny, not really watching the speedo at the time) and I enter turn 1 at 220ish, I reckon 1.8km would well and truely top it out. Even better - it's just down the road from where my place is. |
