Just select a subject and get ready for a chuckle. http://rinkworks.com/stupid/ RE: Funny computer stories, techy stuff, computer trivia - Add yours - Missy_Moo - 25-10-2008 There was the time when at work we had SAP, black screens, green text.... Well we kinda painted the monitor black on this guy who wasn't very computer savvy.... & sat back waiting to see how long it would be. Well the week went by before he reported it.... Funnier still was the tech testing away for a loooooooong time, before he clicked. we had quite a group sitting on the top deck watching, laughing.... RE: Funny computer stories, techy stuff, computer trivia - Add yours - Missy_Moo - 25-10-2008 Then there was the time a mate made a simple text box popup program, where we would target users..... type in their id and this popup box would appear on their monitor. For a long time, I would send texts saying "God is watching you!" Even funnier when they reported it to the techs.... who were dumbfounded. Really funny sitting there at the group of computers talking to the poor dude who was getting the popups.....personalised...... and seeing him freak out. Ah the fun lasted for sooooo long. heh heh heh RE: Funny computer stories, techy stuff, computer trivia - Add yours - Banter - 14-05-2009 BUSGO Wrote:Good cartoons Pete.... Hi Busgo, did you do any support on Prime while in the Air force? Banter RE: Funny computer stories, techy stuff, computer trivia - Add yours - BUSGO - 14-05-2009 Hi Banter, I think Prime and/or Interdata took over the Perkin Elmer name at some stage. We had a Prime mainframe at the smelter where I worked after the RAAF but it was mainly involved in the plant operations and control functions. If I remember correctly it had a water cooled cpu box. (Maybe that was another one). I left the RAAF in 96/97 so it is going back a bit now. |
