RE: Australia - BUSGO - 17-01-2008

Shit, I'm nearly 54 and I have lived in four of Australia's states all my life.
I can't remember ever living in a street where there were no migrants.....

The only thing that has changed over the years is the source of the input.
Every group that has been introduced has gone through the same long drawn out process of integration. It will never happen quicker than it takes.

The only thing new in life, is your own perspective....

RE: Australia - Mutha - 17-01-2008

It's the same shit, just a different day. Coffee

Hey Busgo go for a walk through cabbramatta at around 11pm on a sat night u will see how integration works . and dont get stranded on the train station unless your packin. Or u could make eye contact with the driver of a car in lakemba ,he or they will certainly bond to u kinda of brotherly love as long as your the same make as the one u made eye contact with. Lets be honest why are we afraid to say what we think?? maybe being labbelled a racist etc. Hmmm well looks like the watermelons have won . Long live midnight oil may they boil in the oil. And I am not drinking .. Just fed up with all the bullshit that many desire to indulge in regarding immagration, Mr Rudd bring back the white australian policy please. I am sure no one minds immagration but why cant we keep all the shit from entering this country.

RE: Australia - RaZ - 18-01-2008

hey - I used to live in Mt Pritchard not far from cabramatta & Canley vale, use to get the train all the time in to the city for work... till I decided to say "f*** you" to cabramatta station & move to Chatswood lol

reason? many times myself or me & my gf at the time would be making our way home to have some dick in a car try to start because he didn't want to stop at a crossing or something stupid, the one time I had to defend myself there & dropped some asian with one hit had me packing afterwards, many started to fire up thus I got out of there asap. The entire liverpool and area's around it are shocking.

Dont even get me started about Campbelltown way!

But yeah - punchbowl / lakemba is just as bad if not worse, Marrickville area was OK-ish but is a good showing of non integration.

When we lived in China we were in a "regional" city of only 5 million people. (Melb has 3m) About 300klm from Shanghai. At the time there were only 52 "foreigners" living in that city. You could say I learned to speak Chinese pretty quick.

The people there treated us like royalty. The locals just couldn't do enough for us. Fantastic people.
My wife could have walked the streets at midnight by herself & would have absolutely no problems. (a Chinese girl would be a different story). Purely because we were foreigners we were held in very high regard & almost untouchable.

Everyone got on fantastically & there were no issues. The expats had the usual bars etc where we gathered regularly, but it was still a great place to live.

Because the mixing of religion and state has worked so well elsewhere? Haha.

"God is part of our culture" where is that dude??????? If you said Italians,Greeks,Maltese,Spanish blablabla I would agree because of all their history and maybe they have introduced it and pushed it a little further when they migrated here, but a 200 year old country is still finding its culture and that is why we should not enforce any of the god or bible bashing crap people come up with.freedom of choice
"Christian principiles founded this nation'Idiot2 Hmmm silly me I thought it was british coloniolasim and their penal system by the way there was nothing godily or christian about some of the founding, especially how they hunted the local indigenous people on horseback as means of sport due to the fact that there was no fox to hunt here at the time .By the way that was documented too.
Religion is used by alot of peolpe as a platform for violence and considering that nobody wants to put their hand up and take the responsibitythan they use the word god like a free pass to whatever their agenda is.I have met many aussies overseas who do not have an idea about the language nor culture.Should these aussies be thrown out or treated like crap cause of their "culture",im sure the answer to that is A BIG NO.

I can think of many places where this is a problem, for Sydney & Melbourne where set areas are all owned by a set ethic group. not that its wrong to do so, its the problems it can create in community's and it happens because they don't integrate & want to stay with "their" people...

Its all to late , so best to live with it and avoid when possible, even though we are full.

Actually Ray you are not full at all.The work force in this country is crippled with the lack of skilled people. The elderly have surpassed the young in numbers, the local people who are highly skilled are going overseas to the countrys that these migrants came from for better pay.Europe/middle east are the places of choice according to the office of statistics.

RE: Australia - jaycbr250 - 21-01-2008

1300 the lack of skilled workers in this country is a worry liberal gov killed of the tafe's and tech schools yes we are not full there is plenty of dessert to live in. i think the inflection of we are full is the fact the water supply and available fertile land is getting stretched too it limits for this country therefor we are getting full.

maybe if these migrant workers were willing to work at it they might just be able to get the jobs in there own country that we seem to be taking from them according to the stats. although on saying that we need skilled workers what we should be doing though is encouraging the youth of today in the ideas of owning your own business and being a trady instead of a button monkey
and working for some other slob

maybe if these migrant workers were willing to work at it migrants do work at it dude thats why they where asked to come here and build this country up in the 50's,60's and 70'sthey might just be able to get the jobs in there own country that we seem to be taking from them what you are taking in are people like Dr Pathel and so forth that come from near or third world country conditions and you can pay them a pitence and get away with it.Im preety sure if you asked a Swiss,German or even an Aussie who come from rich or strong countries and offered the same wages they would tell you to stick it where the sun dont shine ,creating the problem of why skilled and highly educated people here are going back overseas conditions according to the stats. although on saying that we need skilled workers what we should be doing though is encouraging the youth of today in the ideas of owning your own business and being a trady instead of a button monkey
and working for some other slob I agree 10001% but the basic point to all that is good parenting, schooling which unfortuneately its very poor here according to a whole array of family groups.Im a generation X and when I see a kid who does not know what the word respect means it only portays on his parents and their skills. When I was younger there was no such thing as "its none of your business"or "Im 16 and I do as i want" kind of crap it was do as youre told or else.As you all know these things I mentioned are a mild version of the truth and in reality todays kids(not all thank god) are troubled, direspectful and found everything on a platter for them compared to the older generation .

Being Australian is about driving in a German car to an Irish pub for a Belgian beer, and then travelling home, grabbing an Indian curry or a Turkish kebab on the way, to sit on Swedish furniture and watch American shows on a Japanese TV.

Don't know where that pic is, but I'd be surprised if it's China.
Most Chinese won't go into the water as it's too poluted.

Not on the mainland anyway. That pic could be from HaiNan, which is the most southerly part of China. A bit like our tropical north.
