RE: K8 screens - Volvi - 11-12-2007 bombaybusa in the states on the .org is a good vendor to buy from am told. gets the best prices around. RE: K8 screens - Dan85 - 11-12-2007 ill be seeing if i can fit a pre 08 screen sometime this week as i have a few lying around the garage. RE: K8 screens - Warchild - 11-12-2007 I am told they do not fit, but.... I personally don't know that for a fact. My suspicion is that they won't, still, let us know what you find out, Dan.... RE: K8 screens - Dan85 - 11-12-2007 i sized em up last night and they look very similar migh mean a little modification to the screen but ill see how it goes. RE: K8 screens - Need_Speed - 11-12-2007 How do you tint a screen gloss black? Is it something you do yourself or does someone specialise in that work? Probably a dumb question but can't you buy them in dark colours? RE: K8 screens - Warchild - 12-12-2007 Need_Speed Wrote:Probably a dumb question but can't you buy them in dark colours? Not this particular screen, no. This is the actual Suzuki "accessory" screen, and it only comes in a light smoke tint. Likely enough, there will soon be aftermarket screens available for the K8 that are fairly dark tint. How I did this tinting: Since I never, ever look through the screen (even tucked in at speeds well over the Ton), I simply shot the underside with gloss black paint. This was done after: 1) buffing up the underside of the screen with a medium-coarse steel wool pad. This, so the paint will adhere better. 2) a tedious and painfully long taping exercise to mask off the outer edge (lip) of the screen, and of course the front of the screen itself. End result looks pretty stealthy. RE: K8 screens - Pine00 - 17-12-2007 BusaNation Wrote:Need_Speed Wrote:Hi folks, Hi I am 6'3" and yes the screen is too low for me as well. If I lie flat on the tank then the screen works but really its not that comfy for long. Ran in the same problem that the new screen is not available in South Africa. Based on a tip in this forum I got hold of Bombay who has posted me the new screen. His details are: Bombay Motorsports 18345 Sherman Way Reseda , Ca 91335 818-342-8585 818-342-8588 fax sales@bombaymotorsports.com Love my new Busa Pine RE: K8 screens - Pine00 - 17-12-2007 Warchild Wrote:Below is what the Suzuki "accessory" windscreen looks like (after I tinted it a nice gloss black): RE: K8 screens - BUSGO - 17-12-2007 How could anyone say that bike is ugly? The GEN IIs are getting better looking by the day. Can I suggest some gold bar end knobs and a gold grabrail to match. RE: K8 screens - Pine00 - 14-01-2008 larra Wrote:Great, will order one ! I am 6'3 and have installed the new Suzuki screen. Not that great! Its better in the middle but the air now hits my shoulders. In fact its so bad I get a shudder over 220 kph. Its outright dangerous. The original screen was safer at higher speed. Hope the after market makers come up with a better solution. Pine |
