Re: cleaning your bike - RuffRed - 13-03-2007 Gdyup - i'd bet my firstborn that the main ingredient in keeping your bike in that condition is elbow grease! I know how much work i put into mine Ruffy Re: cleaning your bike - RaZ80 - 13-03-2007 Quote:dan:settle down people simple difference of oppions. now back on subject i use myr sheen but i dont let it sit cause im worried it will eat the paint awa if it sits but itmakes a nice finish. Yeah fair enough there Dan - but if didn't come out saying I am talking shit I wouldn't have arch'd up. should have just left it more harsh at a big f*** you then. I try to share everything I learn here with people - so to get a post like that really ticks me off! Busgo: so you intend NEVER to paint your bike - so if you drop it or something & want it painted - you wouldn't you'd just buy new pannels right? Well just remember not all of us are that rich! I swear sometimes I so fuckin over this shit & passing on stuff I learn "Busa riders always count in three's.... 100, 200, 300" Re: cleaning your bike - BUSGO - 13-03-2007 You are quite Raz. I never intend to drop my bike, and haven't dropped a bike for over 30 years. However my bike did get knocked over 2 years ago and was partially repainted by the insurance company. The guy had no problems with the paint job. Only issue is that I keep getting fraccking stone chips. I don't think that I would ever buy new panels rather than just paint.- Don't know where that came from... Rgds BUSGO "TAKE MY ADVICE" I'm not using it anyway!Edited by: BUSGO at: 13/3/07 14:02 silicon based polishes - spamanglenn - 13-03-2007 We all have our favourites, some just need thicker skin than busa paint. Re: cleaning your bike - RaZ80 - 13-03-2007 Quote:The guy had no problems with the paint job. Only issue is that I keep getting fraccking stone chips. well that shouldn't happen - we both know that. If you were to look for a reason I'd be interested in finding out why. I already have ideas. Look - I only arched up because of Xhiler8r's post & what he said. I dont understand why anyone would recommend something when its known that "hey - if you ride your bike & something happens to it & you wanna paint it that this is what could happen.... " deal. But to be honest - if I didn't know better & people told me to use mr sheen - then I go get it painted & find there are issues because I used such stuff - I'd be pretty pissed off at why people whom knew more then me never said anything. Hence the recommending part. No one ever plans to re-paint a bike - but it only take some fucker to back in to your bike or something stupid & then your looking at some paint. its no big deal - like I said - people who want to call me on saying bullshit had just better be able to back them selfs up after the call. (Disclaimer: yeah I am pissed off & this thread piss's me off more - so keep it going - its a good outlet ) "Busa riders always count in three's.... 100, 200, 300" Re: cleaning your bike - RaZ80 - 13-03-2007 Quote:I fail to see how wax could possibly penetrate paint. Assuming they are all using automotive acrylic lacquer, it would take some sort of miracle for anything to penetrate it. Must be shit paint. We spray all kinds of paint all day long here, mostly acrylic lacquer and 2pack, and I have never heard such a load of rot in all my life. Everything gets exactly the same preparation prior to painting, regardless of what polish etc. has been used on paintwork. Sounds like they have made up a reason to charge you too much money for a re-spray. Really? Do you spray bikes or bike plastics? If so - hows about this 2200 was the price I paid for mine to be redone which included some fixing as well. Is that a rip off? I have been told this by all sorts of different bike painters from Sydney & here in Melbourne. Oh and the comment about shit paint - unless you class factory paint from suzuki as "shit"...... I just want to know whats the f*&^ing truth - sick of being told something & relay it just have some f***kers turn around & say I am full of shit! f*** YOU ALL! much better. So whats the truth? "Busa riders always count in three's.... 100, 200, 300" Re: cleaning your bike - rocket rod 7777 - 13-03-2007 Touchy, touchy there young Raz. Each to there own i say. I have used Mr Sheen on fairings for years on all my bikes and never had a problem.I use mothers polish on the tank(metal) and amourall on the black plastics like innner fairing, indicators, switch blocks, and glass cleaner on the fairing screen and headlight. It all works for me and if someone gets on here and says this doesnt work or that doesnt work,i dont really give a toss because as i said i have used these products for years and never had a problem. Ive heard it all, people canning Mr Sheen or amourall, but hey ,i use them and like i said, never had a problem THE END! Back in black! Re: cleaning your bike - Xhiler8r - 13-03-2007 uhoh razza - a - mattaz has spoken and he has taken the word of someone that wishes life be easier on him next time he is painting your bike personally i agree with m8ee on this one if Mr Sheen soaks through your paint you have shit paint end of story if you really ask any bike painter they will just about all say that the suzuki paint is crap and usually very little is applied so a lot of polishing would be a concern well that was what my bike painter told me and he also recommended i use mr sheen before , during and after any shows i entered it into he never once mentioned that it was harder for him to paint my panels and even if it was who gives a f*** the insurance is paying for the repairs if the bike falls over or whatever happens to it So get the f*** off ya high horse you fucken inbred twit and research things before you post I personally go with word of mouth and if it works on 90 out of 100 bikes and does no damage then its good enuff for mine there ya go I had my rant now its your turn lets hope you have some facts this time cause i dont post things up just so other people f*** up their rides and as you can see by the other posters maybe i aint alone in using the cheaper product Cheers My Last 3 Rides -> 02-Busa, 06-M109R, 00-Busa Re: cleaning your bike - m8ee - 13-03-2007 Quote:Really? Do you spray bikes or bike plastics? Cars - same prep, same paint as bikes. The price you got seems OK to me for repair work as well as painting. The stuff about wax seeping into your paint is bullshit IMHO...... but maybe you know something I don't. It's not out of the question, there are some people who know more than I do. Sorry you are so upset raz, maybe take some of choppers advice Chopper says "Harden the f*** up Australia" Re: cleaning your bike - Blackzook - 13-03-2007 I have used Mr Sheen for more years than I care to remember and have never had a problem at all. Why pay more for the same shit under a different name. The bald headed bastard (MrSheen not Ray from ERI) has always worked brilliantly. Bill you are a trouble making bastard. No one seems to be game so I'll do it GET f****d see ya at the end of the month mate. Back to the original question - Nearly always wet wash then polish or wax. Bruce N2O no laughing matter f*** nos I've got Velocity Re: cleaning your bike - BUSGO - 13-03-2007 My turn again. Fick it! Yes, I'm rich.
