Welcome to the club and the world of BUSA somebodyelse.

I'm sure I've seen that bike somewhere before Undecided .

Didn't go down too hard.

WA is a pretty small state, I thought someone must know how it got here.

is that a lime green? I have seen a "yellow" for my L3 with the flame motif's that I was looking at getting LOL

There are a couple of PITA spots on the busa that seems to attract allen keys, sockets, screws and fairing clips like a black hole, but don't worry they normally vibrate out at 140 lol

Trophy That's as good as I can do at the moment
Poor old camera on tablet can't handle it
It is that bright
Out in the sun today
Look at it then turn away and you get a purple busa superimposed over everything you see

The more observant may have spotted the licence plate. Trophy

What doesn't come up in pics is major clutch slippage

Story:

Was little bit worried about licence with pipe on
So stuffed exhaust with brillo
Took for tentative ride around block to check if It actually ran
Seemed ok as unlicensed and nooby went very gentle
Rode to licence place
Again pretty gentle as no plate and brillo up muffler
Wasn't astounded by the acceleration bit put that down to plugged up muffler
Got there brillo was hanging out like a tail so took it out and hoped for best
Bloke didn't even mention noise
Got plate - win
So thought ok I'll loosen up a little
Turned up the noise
And that's all I get
So got it home screaming its head off
All the while worried that there'd be a clunk and the thing would fly off

Also found suspension to be a lot harder than I expected

So the journey continues
1 step forward
1 step back

What oil is in the bike? If someone has put automotive engine oil in it it may cause the clutch to slip.

RE: what am i doing? - Batfink - 08-01-2015

+1 for what Mozzie said

there are many myths as to what you can use in a bike and some people don't understand vehicle lube at all. Before starting an expensive clutch rebuild try flushing and changing oil for the right stuff

RE: what am i doing? - somebodyelse - 10-01-2015

Learnt two things today

1. Oil was probably ok.

2. "I'd rather push my hayabusa than ride anything else" is not a viable phrase.

Check the clutch push rod behind the clutch slave cylinder is not gummed up with chain lube.

RE: what am i doing? - somebodyelse - 10-01-2015

Call me Sherlock
given bike was probably working fine before the fairings got damaged
either it was damaged as well at the time

Or it was something that happened later.

Small prize for correct guess

Prize is cheapo Chinese clutch lever Very Happy
