haven resort backpackers have cheap rooms and u can park outsid?!!fe the room.
ride close to centre white lines as most animals stand by the side of the road.
no speed limits in NT now?
why stay in coober? There are a few roadhouses after coober pedy

Don't rely on the roadhouses for accomodation.
I went through from Alice to Coober recently with the intention of pulling up and staying at these roadhouses when it started to get dark only to find that they were all closed forcing me to keep going through to Coober Pedy. I got there well after dark and speed was down to 70-80 kph to be safe. Bloody big bunnies out there.

I am heading out to Uluru on 7 August from Bendigo on the 'Busa. I will drop the latest update here if you would like. It appears that there will be no need to carry fuel along - am I correct with this assumption?

Hi Ken, it would be great to hear your feedback after your planned ride in August.
My guess, as good as the Australian motorcycle Atlas book by Hema, there seems to be quite a few petrol stations on Stuart Hwy but also once you turn off the hwy towards Yulara....

Thanks to other guys as well who dialed in to this discussion thread.

Cheers

Earldunda is where you turn off to uluru. Next fuel is at curtain springs with free camping. If I am in the cutback I carry 5 ltrs in a Jerry can and lots of water
