RE: Protection? - Terry - 04-01-2014 Helmet, Gloves, Jeans, Jacket (mesh with armour), Steel toe cap boots. Always remember the Honda 450 4, I was riding on a dirt road at 80 km, wearing a pair of shorts and a smile. (walked away from that). It will never happen to me, But it does. RE: Protection? - GRUNTMAX - 04-01-2014 The problem with buying a separate set of jacket and/or pants, its just too easy to only throw the jacket n boots on only. And the chances are, if you are wearing a good set of jacket n joining pants, chances are, when the shit really hits the fan, the top will part with the bottom & ya might end up snapping ya spine cause your back protectors useless cause its now around ya neck. Be really careful if ya order like this as it will really piss you off if they don't fit & you have send back with same courier for replacement. I like the Spidi, so maybe the next set. http://www.bikebandit.com/alpinestars-sp-1-one-piece-leather-motorcycle-suit#tabtop http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=auW7scdv-H0#t=13 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rdcpVS3TX30#t=51 http://www.bikebandit.com/alpinestars-atem-one-piece-leather-motorcycle-suit#tabtop http://www.bikebandit.com/spidi-track-wind-pro-one-piece-motorcycle-suit RE: Protection? - Driller - 04-01-2014 Here you go read Brittany's story it might change your mind about wearing gear or not and don't forget about your pillion too I say wear the best you can afford http://fzronline.com/wiki/doku.php?id=extreme_road_rash-cause_effect_and_lesson_learned:read: RE: Protection? - 06BUSA - 04-01-2014 (04-01-2014, 03:34pm)GRUNTMAX Wrote: The problem with buying a separate set of jacket and/or pants, its just too easy to only throw the jacket n boots on only. Even as kids through back streets with no helmet on dirt bikes. Those days are behind me, not because of an accident but because I now have a daughter. I don't mind adding an opinion, but can't stand the idea of telling adults what to do. The risks are obvious, but taking the same reasoning further says never get on a motorbike, let alone a busa. RE: Protection? - BusaJim - 04-01-2014 Always always always But it is up to you don't believe the crap about dragging jeans I wa fully geared up on my last off but still spent 10 days in hospital and two major operations 14 screws and two rods later and still can't walk properly and I was only doing 40 kph not a scratch on the outside. Not wort the risk mate if you get too hot get a camel back and keep yourself really hydrated of better still if you can afford it get a cool shirt. https://www.pegasusautoracing.com/group.asp?GroupID=COOLSHIRT Just me two cents Jim RE: Protection? - 06BUSA - 04-01-2014 (04-01-2014, 05:55pm)Heezus Wrote: I love getting around on a hot day in a singlet and shorts. First bounce and they're torn to bits. You are right Ward but in all honesty there is little difference between shorts, jeans and draggin jeans. Every weekend someone comes off on the Oxley and even on the slow corners the people wearing draggin jeans wish they had been wearing leathers. RE: Protection? - RYDRZ - 05-01-2014 Full " 2 piece " leathers - 40'deg or more day Soak tshirt b4 puttin on gear System works Have had 3 offs & no scares on me & I call gruntmax's drunk driver bitch each time & tell her I'm on my way & - No the back brace didnt move Gruntmax & I'm still walkin for wearing it... Eh What? I put freezer blocks (frozen) into my pockets and a wrap one of those frozen necktie thingies around my neck. I usually get to where I'm going before they melt and heat stroke sets in. RE: Protection? - Belzybob - 06-01-2014 Freezer blocks? Nah, its more than that.
