Fuel is never "clean" at any servo. The best preventative measure when riding everywhere is to stick one of these in your backpack & use it every time you fill your bike up, a little slower, but you'll never have a fuel problem.
It will save you a lot of money & motorcycle downtime. I use one every fill up.

I had the same problem a while ago. Mine has done 35 000km
Look at the crap stuck to the pump filter.

Ask Corbs to see the pics of his filter being cleaned out

Out of interest, what are you using now and have you had any further signs of trouble.
I actually purposly never mentioned fuel type or brand Kendo, so I did not influence anyones comments and got honest feedback - may have later mentioned BP...not sure?
I've used Shell 98 ever since, mixed on ocassion with an additive - but no more issues and a very happy busa.

Shell list two 98 fuels, Shell Premium 98 and V-Power. Think I've only seen V-Power around here. Which are you using?

Update.
Pulled the fuel pump out tonight for a quick look. Bit of crap but it all looked reasonably clean. Cleaner than I expected. Disassembled, one of the wires was a little loose, strainer was a little dirty, so cleaned it up, put it back together, checked everything and will see how it goes tomorrow.

I must have slipped, would also be good for a forced induction motor, just bung on a billet fuel rail with the bigger injectors on top rail.
