Paul Teutul,Sr. American Chopper Re: K7 Gixxer ...............Trick - Holger the Dane - 13-01-2007 Very nice Love the return of twin pipes. Makes it look like a grown-ups' bike instead of a toy. I might just have to take one for a spin....... watch this space. Cheers, Holge Re: K7 Gixxer ...............Trick - AstroBusa - 13-01-2007 Mode switch ? Do we know what it does ? (I'm assuming it changes timing or something) The older I get, the better I was. Regards.... Rob Re: K7 Gixxer ...............Trick - Fat Busa Racing 1347 - 13-01-2007 Quote:Mode switch ? Do we know what it does ? as far as I know it's for map selection, like the Yoshi pigyback unit that you can get for the Busa, I think you can have a choice of 3 different maps and change on the fly... Pete, am I right or wrong Regards Richard You're the guy that'll be sneaking out of your bedroom at three o'clock in the morning to look at your bike. Paul Teutul,Sr. American Chopper On the money - fasterfaster1 - 13-01-2007 On the money Richard Here is the Suzuki blurb on it Controlling the new 2007 GSX-R1000 is a new engine management system with massive computing power with four times the capacity of the previous models. The new ECM controls not only the fuel injection and exhaust systems but also make it possible for the rider to select from three performance settings to match riding conditions, using a three way switch mounted on the right handlebar. Engine mapping will vary for each setting and each map was developed using experience gained building racebike maps for rainy, mixed and dry conditions. Switching from map to map will be instantaneous making it possible for the rider to use different maps for different sections of the racetrack. FF1 Re: On the money - rocket rod 7777 - 13-01-2007 Mode switch, another gimmick. What happened to throttle control. Twin mufflers, fuggly. Anything else....oh yeah its a spewzuki. The Phantom is back Re: On the money - RaZ80 - 13-01-2007 bah! Away with you hell spawn kawi lover! its kinda like a duck ay?? kawi kawi.... kawi kawi "Busa riders always count in three's.... 100, 200, 300" Edited by: RaZ80 at: 14/1/07 0:06 Re: On the money - Fat Busa Racing 1347 - 13-01-2007 Man that's the shit... How long before they have a full closed loop set up Regards Richard You're the guy that'll be sneaking out of your bedroom at three o'clock in the morning to look at your bike. Paul Teutul,Sr. American Chopper On the Modess - Sumkhun - 13-01-2007 Well Guys and Gals, This is what it has come to. Spewsuki wont let a GSX1300R on a GSXR track day because it hasn't got a MODE SWITCH ! I obviously need an upgrade to work out if it is daytime, nightime, tracktime, raintime or just Plain Ol' Time-O-The-Month Time. Hence the Modess Selection Switch. Can anyone get one for me in Pink ? Man, that is Shit.............. - GDYUP - 14-01-2007 Re: Mode switch, another gimmick. What happened to throttle control. Twin mufflers, fuggly. Ahhhhhhhhhhh. The End Re: Man, that is Shit.............. - rev 01 - 14-01-2007 Mode control ..........just another security blanket for dud riders Dialing in the bike - Fat Busa Racing 1347 - 15-01-2007 This sort of technology can help with setting up a bike for all kinds of conditions. This is just a tool for getting the power down and under control, just like radial brakes help you to pull up in a shorter distance, and they are now the bench mark. They don't use the same set up for a GP bike at all the different tracks or a Top Fuel bike dumping all of its H.P on the start line and just try to hang on to it... It's just a new way of setting up your bike for the conditions you are ridding or racing in. It's the 21st century this sort of stuff will be the norm in a few years just my 2 cents worth, but I like it... it's late and I'm rambling... Regards Richard You're the guy that'll be sneaking out of your bedroom at three o'clock in the morning to look at your bike. Paul Teutul,Sr. American Chopper Re: Dialing in the bike - rev 01 - 15-01-2007 LOL Pilchards....running sinker on the bottom Pilchards.......................................? - GDYUP - 15-01-2007 Don't need Pilchards Getting bites just on berley? Next we'll all need switches to vary the ride suspension conditions from Limp Dick to Sports mode......... Whoops.......... Sorry I just described the Beemer. Anon The End |
