Adelaide Riders, Speed Limit Reduction! - Troopmaster - 10-07-2012

Adelaide Riders Beware, Bull Creek Rd is now signposted at 80km/h, with a nice little Sign under the Ammended Limit saying "Speed Limit Reduced"! (C@#TS)

PS: Currently Ashbourne Road is still posted as 100 km/h, i will advise of any further reductions in this area in the future!

You think that's bad! I was reading in Australian Motorcycle news that in 18 months time it will be compulsory to wear a fluoro vest in VIC.

I WILL NEVER RIDE WITH A FLURO VEST!!!!

or panties for that matter! :-)

RE: Adelaide Riders, Speed Limit Reduction! - sutur - 11-07-2012

I would. But only if it was fluro pink. Orange and Green is SO common ;-)

RE: Adelaide Riders, Speed Limit Reduction! - DAD - 11-07-2012

From what I read NO VEST NO RIDE!!
All riders need to reject this crap it doesn't matter what the hell you wear car drivers just pull out on you.
What needs to happen is that there needs to be harsher fines or even a jail sentence for drivers who pull out on bikes.
If this was enforced things would change as drivers would take the time to check for bikes.
But what I don't understand is that we are all told speed is the problem so how does a vest slow us down?Idiot2

I think the whole high viz thing has been taken out of context and already blown out of proportion.

If you read the transcripts from the government/police road safety meeting it seems all they are trying to make mandatory is that all riding gear be Hi-Viz (jacket, pants, boots, gloves). That can be as simple as having the reflective 3M material incorporated into your riding gear just like some of the new gear already has.

I didn't read a single line that said all motorcyclists should be forced to dress like valentino rossi and wear bright yellow.

here is a copy of one of the transcripts if anyone wants to take the time to read it.

RE: Adelaide Riders, Speed Limit Reduction! - Rev - 11-07-2012

Fluoro Vests: Yeah well........maybe we can thank ourselves a bit for that Eek

I've seen gutless wobblers wearing those things for years here, Poncey BMW Boxer riders come to mind for one. The impression I get is "I'm a prick of a rider so watch out for me " Some government twerp has seen them & thought "Oh goody, what a wonderful initiative to force on all those stinky bikers " Most of the pot plant drivers out there wouldn't wake up & look if the shithouse fell on them brick by brick.

We need a mass rally to shut down Melbourne & sort this shit out.......what pisses me off is that the Vic Transport Minister is a biker !!!!!!!!

RE: Adelaide Riders, Speed Limit Reduction! - Greeny_SA - 11-07-2012

So if you don't wear one how will they catch us, as according to them we are invisible without one .

I'll have a look about.... I have a photo of a mate wearing one..... problem was he put it on backwards, thinking it was more to cover his chest, and the g-string back made his "boys" hang out either side!Scary
