RE: Tasmania/March 2010 - TheShredder - 02-04-2009 Come on QLDERS who's up for it. Even leaving from brissy you'll have to allow 2 weeks off min which may be a bit of an ask for some ( work ? screw it quit /wife ![]() A few days to & from Melbourne travel & the week on tassie. This is a trip to remember but dont go into it lightly it can be very demanding metality & Physically if your not prepared. You'll have to put in some big days in he saddle. ![]() Road some awesome roads. ![]() Stay in plenty of PUbs & eat there food & drink cold ![]() ![]() use the term SIUB ![]() Then theres the financial side boat trip tyres accommodation food brake downs oil change/ service petrol but still worth every cent my trip from brissy last time just some thing to think about 15/16 days 9200klms return. RE: Tasmania/March 2010 - BUSGO - 02-04-2009 Come on Shane - big days in the saddle... ![]() You can loop the island on a good day. ![]() I'd love to go but may be there the month before. RE: Tasmania/March 2010 - Heidi1 - 02-04-2009 Nah, I'm with Shane on this one. You need to set out the grounds rules up front, if you intend doing some serious riding, the last thing you need is someone who didn't realise and thought it would be 3-400kms a day max with regular coffee stops and faffing about at petrol stations. Sure you could do a lap in a day, but I suspect that's not what these boys are thinking. P.s. What was the 20kms day Shredder? RE: Tasmania/March 2010 - Gassick - 02-04-2009 Have done Tassie 3 times in the last 5 years, twice on the bike and once in the car and it is everything that is said about it and more. If you can organise it, do it, you won't regret it. ![]() RE: Tasmania/March 2010 - BUSGO - 02-04-2009 Just joking Heidi. I did it in a wonderful 12 days but have been told 1 day is possible. RE: Tasmania/March 2010 - Heidi1 - 02-04-2009 Simmo, Bruce and I discussed Tassy for our next adventure, but we weren't sure what we would do after lunch! Shredder and the boys have a different approach from what I heard at Jindy. .......I wonder what the record is.......... You got that right Heidi. 20k day was our only easy day of the trip riding to & from Ph isl from the house we stayed in. We zig zagged all over Tassie & still didnt do all the roads. we split up for a couple of days & the other guys went places Mark & i didnt. We did an 850K day on tassie I dont even know if we had 1 sit down lunch at a pub early starts every day every stop was like a pitstop to hit the road again BUT our choise we wanted to ride as much as possible That may not suit other i know but once there YOU could do you own thing & just enjoy it.
