My wife had a baby- updated with pics - rob - 14-01-2009 Hi all, hope you have all been enjoying yourselves over the festive season. Yesterday my wife Kate went into labour at 4am, We stayed at home till 730am. Got to the hospital at 815. Kate was 6cm dilated by this time. Excellent we thought over 1/2 way. So the midwife broke her waters to make it progress quicker. 2hrs later, still 6cm..... Missus was ready to smash someone... help let me outta there! So because she wasn't progressing they gave her some pethadine and the gas, which over the next 4hrs helped her get to 9 cm's. However the last part of her cervix still showed a lip, so she couldn't start to push. Another hour wait for that to disappear and then she could push.... Mind you its now been 10hours since she started, she's high on gas and absolutely buggered as if she'd been wrestling with a black marlin for 10hours hahahaha And so at 4:03pm with the help of the suction cap and some final huge pushes she managed to have our baby. Angus James was born on 13-1-09 @ 403pm, weighing 8lbs 13 or 4kg in the new scale. Man, what an emotional roller coaster ride and i didn't even have the hard part. But he is the most beautiful thing i have ever seen and i think the old busa may have been knocked off it's "most precious thing in my life " mountain.... Well maybe cheers UPDATE: thanks for the well wishes, Rod, broken sleep does wonders for you hey? hahahaha here's some pics of my little man [attachment=4780] [attachment=4781] [attachment=4783] [attachment=4784] [attachment=4782] Rob RE: My wife had a baby - Heidi1 - 14-01-2009 CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
